Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
* Create, support, and administer SQL/No-SQL databases. Design database clusters for no downtime upgrades, patches and maintenance
* Assists with data modeling, planning, designing and implementing a high quality production environment.
* Architect/Develop ETL for data warehouse projects
* One of the major responsibilities is to maintain optimal performance of database environment for Business Intelligence application. Review/tune Queries, Reports, and Views for performance and best practices
* Provide DBA support for Data warehouse. Proficiency with design/implementation of database partitioning, replication, various indexing techniques and additional performance tuning to support large data warehousing solutions.
* Design database to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements. Assists with database cleanup and optimization.
* Develop/Automate scripts to verify and monitor the health and integrity of databases.
* Use advanced database administration concepts to solve very complex issues in broad applications
* Provide input on selection and implementation of databases and ETL/BI tools
* Provide 24×7 support for production databases
Requirements:
* 8+ years experience as a DBA on Unix/Linux environments maintaining production databases.
* Recent experience installing, configuring, and managing MySQL, Oracle 11g, DataGuard, ASM, RMAN, and OEM. Hands-on experience administering commercial large-enterprise databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Vertica, etc...
* Proven database engineering experience in large, high-volume, high-availability database mission-critical production databases.
* Proven ability in managing databases of 10-20TB in sizes. Experience with advanced replication techniques
* Experience developing ETL for data warehouse environments.
* Strong understanding of database architecture concepts.
* Proficient working with UNIX/Linux platform with concrete knowledge of system administration/internals.
* Knowledge of one of the following; C/C++, Java, shell, bash scripting, Perl, or Python.
* Strong understanding of systems administration and/or coding principles and concepts.
* Experience in a 24×7 environment
* Experience working with Vertica a plus
* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields.
