Director of Sales – Portland, OR

Our Client is a global manufacturer and marketer of extremely sophisticated consumer electronic components. Part of a global conglomerate with over $1.5billion in presentation, office and communications products sales they are on the cutting edge of new technology innovations. They are seeking a highly creative, strategic Director of Sales to head-up the North American sales operations. Their sales vehicles include, direct, dealer/channel and web based selling models.

This is a take-charge position working directly with the President and Controller of the US operations who are looking for someone that will bring in new programs, light fires under their existing dealers and drive revenue. There is also new product launch planning and execution that has to get done immediately.

Responsibilities:

• Review and assess the effectiveness of Dealer programs, channel marketing programs, websites, sales tools, and provide gap analysis and recommendations
• Develop new Dealer marketing programs, promotions, campaigns and collateral
• Supervise and manage the execution of marketing deliverables
• Act as an effective influencer, collaborate with internal resource for all sales personnel and Dealers
• Support new business development, including the preparation of presentations, proposals, budget estimates and Dealer requests.

Position Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in Dealer/channel sales program management and development, and preferably 5-7 years experience working in a hardware/technology environment, with a history of superior client service.
• Excellent understanding of channel sales
• Experience and knowledge in high tech industry is VERY important
• Must be strategically focused
• Must have excellent presentation skills
• Must be a motivated self-starter with integrity and a strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills
• Extremely detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects for multiple clients at any given time
• Able to act independently
